Army Air Forces Sgt. R.L. Tyler, killed during World War II, was accounted for Sept. 10, 2019.

In 1942, Tyler was a member of Headquarters Squadron, 19th Bombardment Group, serving in the Pacific Theater during World War II. Following the Japanese invasion of the Philippines and the fall of Bataan, Tyler was taken as a prisoner of war to the Cabanatuan prisoner of war camp. He was reported to have died between July 18-19, 1942, and was subsequently buried in Common Grave 312, along with other prisoners who died that day.
